Day 74

March 4th, 2014

To continue my tour of Cornwall.... This is St. Michaels Mount. It was beautiful beautiful beautiful. It was warm and sunny and we all took our coats off and ran in the sand in our boots. I didn't even mind the discomfort of having sand in my boots because it was just soooo wonderful.

This dog was just chillin. Laying on the sand, lookin around. This dog is my spirit animal.

Cue Robin Sparkles "Sand castles in the the sand"

We took a car boat to get to the island.  It was awesome.

After we looked around for a while (we didnt get to go in the castle because of a scheduling error) I took the causeway back alone. I was like being on a movie set for Lord of the Rings or something. So magical.

Since I was one of the first people back from the island, I took a walk along the water and wrote in the sand the name of my one true love.... Dooney.

For my friend Lacey's birthday we went to the Orangery at Kensington Palace.
I got super fruit tea and croissant french toast. It was delicious. The only bad thing about the beautiful restaurant were the large windows with the randomly hot sun baring through. We were all wiping our faces, melting while trying to still be lady like, drinking hot tea. It was comedic.

Last Wednesday, we took a field trip to see Jane Austen's grave and home in Chawton. This is where she lived after her father had passed away and they were left with very little. Her older brother was adopted to a wealthy man and wife who had no children so that he could inherit everything from them. Because of this her brother was able to give them this home in Chawton where Jane wrote most of her novels.

Janes bedroom that she shared with her sister.

A quilt Jane made.

They had quills so guests could write notes and practice their penmenship. This note is my favorite. They also had dried lavender that you could wrap in cloth and take home. I put mine in my pajama drawer, so I sleep really great at night. Your welcome Camille.

After the tour, we got tea and cake at a cafe across the street.

With all these teacups I felt very at home. My mom has a very Austen like taste in decorating.

Janes Austens Grave. Jane died of an illness at the early age of 41 on the knee of her beloved sister.

On Thursday, we went to a pub to watch this boy Tom from the singles ward sing, with boys we met at the singles ward. It was my first pub experience. I got a diet coke of course.

On Friday, we went to the Borough Market which is right by the London Bridge. It is a food market that is only open on the weekends.

On Saturday, we went to the Houses of Parliament. Here is a fact. Big Ben is connected to Parliament. I didn't know this before I was here...maybe I should have but I didn't. In Peter Pan it looks like its just standing alone so HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW. They don't allow any pictures inside unfortunately so here are some googled images.

After the tour we went to lunch at Subway.... UGH. whatever. Then, to a tour of the War Rooms. These are rooms located underground near Downing Street (where the Prime Minister lives) and where Winston Churchill had the headquarters of WWII.

All Behind You Winston.

They would post the weather conditions here because there are no windows.

After, we went on a stroll through St. James's Park, which is right outside the War Rooms.

SPRING IS COMING!!!!!

Okay you guys. Let's get serious for a second. This. was. literally. the. best. night. of. my. life!!!!! It was flawless. FLAWLESS. Audrey, Camille and I got dressed up and headed over on the tube to the O2 arena around 7. When we got there we ate dinner in our BOX (so awesome) Dinner consisted of Cesar salad, pork something, potatoes, a little pasty pie. Then, we had desert which was filled doughnuts with chocolate mousse to dip it in and all the ice cream a girl would want. Also.... SO MANY DIET COKES. I was already living a fantasy and this was all pre-yonce! Then all the sudden without any opening act, B popped on stage. She is amazing. Like is she even human?

Jay- Z and Mrs. Carter.

THANK YOU AUDREYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!

My best friend sent my a package of nice things, because I was feeing down a bit ago and she wanted to cheer me up. I HAVE THE BEST FRIEND IN THE WORLD. You know how married bloggers write about how luckily they were to find their "hubbys" im like freak that. I have my bestie and I was the luckiest to find her freaking 11 YEARS AGO. Its cool to know I will have a best friend for the rest of my life, because I cant function normally with out her as a constant in my life. I LOVE YOU BEST FRIEND!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay. We are almost all the way caught up! Hooray! Yippee! Huzzah!

Last night, Camille and I went to the London Eye. ohhhh ahhhh.

The moon was placed perfectly for,  "Second star to the right and straight on till morning."

Before you go on the Eye you can go to this 4D show....which was trippy. Like I was like what just happened to me. This seagall guides you around London and then theres like bubbles and fireworks and yeah it was weird. And then you can take pictures with a randomly placed wax figure of David Beckham. So that was a bonus.

Getting higher.....

and higher....

At the top

I spy with my little eye St. Pauls Cathedral

They take your picture at the end... you are not supposed to take a picture (lame) but Camille managed to sneak this one before getting yelled at.

And now we are caught up! yay! I feel good now. I have such a bad memory that I am realllly worried if I dont' posted every little thing on here I will never remember it again. Today is pancake day apparently so we are off to find some pancakes. Have an amazing day!

xx Jac
